2007 History; 2008 a New Challenge

Filed under: Blog — JohnBryant at 10:34 am on Wednesday, January 2, 2008

We have survived another year! Actually, even with all of the difficulty and heartache, we will have to say that we have been so blessed this past year. May we stop and say thank you to our Great and Merciful God.
2008 is here and I hope that we all are up to the challenges this year will bring. The most important thing you can do in this coming year is PRAY! It is so important because praying people are moved to action, to service, and have a desire to be in God’s will. Pray for yourself that you will stay true to your Lord and Master, Jesus Christ. Pray for your family that they will cling to Christ. Pray for your Pastor that He will follow every step of Christ. Pray for your Church that they will become more keenly aware of Christ’s purpose. Pray for your nation and those who stand in your place fighting for freedom. Pray for the Presidential elections that we will choose a leader that will honor Jesus Christ. Pray for the many who are hurting and experiencing loss and illness… and this list goes on…. LET’S PRAY

It’s Christmas Eve

Already it is Christmas Eve. For those who have been anticipating the excitement of Christmas, it is upon us. I don’t know about you, but I still remember the excitement of Christmas from when I was a child, (that was a while back!) It was alway such a special time with family, friends and the fun of Christmas traditions like Santa and gifts.
I am excited today because I will be with my kids and grandson, my wife and other family members. I am really looking forward to what will be unfolding in the next 24 hours. (I know that some of you can’t wait for December 26th, it will be here soon.)
I really appreciate my wife, right now (10:00 AM Christmas Eve) she has already been working since 5:30 am after staying up late last night, getting ready for a festive time, cooking and preparing the house. She makes Christmas happen around our house, thank you Debbie. I still get excited at Christmas.
I hope that you have kept Christmas in Focus and that the Series of Messages have helped. Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas

How important is it to Keep Christmas in Focus? I believe that it is the only way for grown ups to really get the most out of an exhausting holiday. It is exhausting because of the worldly perspective, not the Biblical perspective. We get so busy and stressed with the Season, when if we would keep Christmas in Focus, it would make a notable difference. This Christmas series, “Christmas in Focus” is designed to help us get our focus back on Jesus, hope you will come and hear what God’s Word says about your focus. If you would like a CD or DVD of this series, email the church office and we will send that out to you at no cost. Have a Merry Christmas!

God is so good! We all know that, but can we say that even when circumstances are not good? God is good regardless of our circumstances and we are blessed even if we don’t feel blessed, so let’s rejoice and be glad!

I was thankful for the great participation in our “Special Guest Day”. We loved having each of you and hope you will make it a regular practice to worship with us.

Pastor Appreciation Month was in October and I want you to know that I feel appreciated every month. Thanks for your love and special treatment you give my family. Your prayers are desired more than anything, but your love and many expressions of love are encouraging. Thanks for all you do and for all you have given to bless my family.

Thanksgiving is around the corner. This time of the year we begin to think about all the great blessings we have received. I encourage you that no matter what has happened in your life, remember that there are things to be thankful for. You can give thanks and you can experience God’s blessings even in the midst of heartache. I challenge you to look for how God has blessed you, you want have to look far. God is so Good!
