Dear Brother John,
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart that you took the time, several weeks ago now, to sit down, listen to, and talk with Cody. Thank you for sharing with me that Cody affirmed he had indeed accepted Jesus as his personal Savior. It is this knowledge I possess that allows me to get through the day without feeling full of sadness. I miss my brother. I miss Cody very much. However, I know it is my own selfishness that wants him here with us. I know he is in a place more magnificent and more beautiful than we can possibly imagine. He is happy and he is free in heaven. Time on this earth is but a blink of an eye in comparison to our eternal life. He just beat me there by half a wink.
Sincerely,
Rusty B. Stanley

Bro. John, Rusty called me from Tampa last night all excited. He told me about finding the blog and responding on Cody’s behalf.I want you to know we appreciate you so much and I sincerely want to be a better servant to you and the lost all around us. I know that is our purpose as Christians. I know Cody’s life and death have served a purpose and will continue to do so. I feel a personal responsibility to be used in fulfilling that purpose even since his departure from this life. please help me in this.

It has been almost four years since we tragically lost my brother Cody Stanley. Months later we tragically lost Philip McDougal in October of 2007. This week we lost Holly McDougal. I am deeply saddened with all of the thoughts of loss during this time of year. I miss my brother, Cody, very much, and love him dearly. Phillip and Holly are together now. Cody, Phillip and Holly through Christ are in heaven. This knowledge makes the saddness bearable and alow the thoughts of rejoice overcome those thoughts that sadden me. Thank you God, for Jesus. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
